New music label expands the studio's soundtrack distribution and physical-media offerings through its partnership with K13 Cinematics.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 16, 2026 — Magic Engine Studios has announced the launch of Magic Engine Records, a new music label dedicated to distributing film soundtracks across major streaming platforms and collectible physical formats, including vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes.

The announcement coincides with the release of the first preview scene from PUMPKIN PATCH: MOONBREAKER, the upcoming 90-minute sequel written and directed by Brian James Gage, making its world premiere Saturday, October 17, on the Alchemy Streaming Network.

The action-packed preview follows Melvin Lester as he attempts to escape a squad of squid-faced special forces, accompanied by the outlaw country sounds of honky-tonk legend Merv Rickels and his song "Hell Ain't Open 'Till Midnight" also written by Gage.

To celebrate the release, Magic Engine Records has introduced a 7-inch collector's vinyl record featuring two Merv Rickels tracks from the Pumpkin Patch films:

Side A: "Hell Ain't Open 'Till Midnight" (From the Pumpkin Patch: Moonbreaker Soundtrack)

Side B: "Pumpkinhead Blues" (From the original Pumpkin Patch Soundtrack)

The collectible record is available through the K13 Media online store at K13Media.com, as part of Magic Engine Studios' partnership with K13 Cinematics.

Bringing Film Soundtracks Into the Physical World

Magic Engine Records expands the studio's growing music catalog, with film soundtracks already rolling out across major digital music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.

Beyond digital distribution, the new label will explore collectible vinyl, CD, and cassette releases tied to Magic Engine productions and its creative partnerships, offering audiences physical keepsakes from their favorite films.

The initiative arrives as physical music continues to demonstrate significant commercial strength in the United States.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), U.S. physical recorded-music revenues reached $731.5 million during the first half of 2026, an increase of 25.9% over the same period in 2025. Vinyl accounted for approximately $544 million, while CD revenues climbed 58.6% to $171 million, underscoring continued consumer interest in owning music beyond streaming services.

"Streaming has made music more accessible than ever, but physical media offers something different," said Debbi Berlin, CEO and co-founder of Magic Engine Studios. "Vinyl, CDs, and cassettes give collectors and film fans something tangible to own, display, and enjoy. With Magic Engine Records and our partnership with K13 Cinematics, we're extending the experience of our movies beyond the screen."

The Merv Rickels 7-inch release represents the label's first collectible vinyl offering, with additional soundtrack releases and physical-media products planned as the studio expands its original film catalog.

PUMPKIN PATCH: MOONBREAKER World Premiere October 17

The new 99-minute feature makes its world premiere as part of Saturday Night at the Movies on the Alchemy Streaming Network, available on Apple TV and Roku.

The evening features a special double bill:

6:00 PM Pacific: PUMPKIN PATCH

7:00 PM Pacific: PUMPKIN PATCH: MOONBREAKER

The first preview scene, featuring Merv Rickels' "Hell Ain't Open 'Till Midnight," and the official theatrical trailer are available now.

The Merv Rickels collector's 7-inch vinyl record is available at K13Media.com.
