The Pines | Pre-Visualization Trailer

The Pines is a feature project written by Magic Engine partner Jeff Ritchie that has spent years in development across shifting financing structures and production environments. Like many ambitious genre films, it advanced through packaging and market conversations without reaching camera.

Rather than allowing the project to remain theoretical, Magic Engine moved it into visual form.

In one week, we produced a 3.5-minute pre-visualization directly from the script designed to accomplish three objectives:

• Establish tonal and visual alignment • Create tangible cinematic proof of concept • Provide a strategic tool for investor and distribution conversations • Create production-ready assets that accelerate next-stage financing and packaging

This was not a storyboard or animatic. The pre-visualization included full scene blocking, production design, cinematography, editorial pacing, sound design, original music composition, and generative VFX—executed as an integrated development exercise.

Every frame, sound element, and design decision was developed internally through the Magic Engine pipeline.

The above trailer is a 1 minute 40 second trailer cut from the up-coming 3.5 minute pre-visualization.

The objective was not to replace physical production, but to accelerate clarity, reduce execution risk, and create forward momentum before capital deployment.

This is the function of integrated generative pre-visualization when applied with intention: development becomes executable proof.
